The fourth edition of “Hozpitality Chef Excellence Awards”- UAE’s much-awaited Popular Choice Awards for talented chefs was held on Monday, 24/05/21 at the Dusit Thani Dubai.
Hozpitality Groups Middle East Chef Excellence Awards - MEA recognizes talented chefs within the industry from different categories and departments. The ceremony saw two different categories of the Popular Choice Awards which included Chefs Excellence Awards and Judges Choice Awards for which the winners were selected solely based on popular choice from the industry via an online voting system.
The evening showcased a top of the line cook-off for talented young chefs below the age of 28 and presented the winner with the Young Chef of the Year Trophy. The cook-off process involves a thorough screening round, through which sixteen candidates are shortlisted based on their recipes submitted for the semi-finals.
As every year, the semi-finals were once again conducted at the International Centre for Culinary Arts (ICCA) Dubai, the strategic partners - Hozpitality Group, where the shortlisted candidates participated in a live cook-off to create and put their best together on the plate using US Beef as the main ingredient. Out of the sixteen, the top five were selected by the Emirates Culinary Guild as the finalists to compete with each other at the awards ceremony.
Lekhnath Thapaliya, Emirates Flight Catering and Sanjay Singh Saud, Caesars Bluewaters were the respective final gold and silver winners for the Young Chef of the Year Trophy 2021.
Being declared a finalist puts these young chefs among the best in the industry and the winner also received a Professional Diploma Program in Culinary Arts worth USD 11,000 sponsored by ICCA Dubai, to help get a strong foundation as they strive to achieve greater heights in their career.
“Our aim behind this initiative is to educate, encourage and promote young talents in the industry and provide them with a platform to put themselves out there and also let them showcase their talent & skills to the world.
