classic milk-based, sweetened hot drink topped with shredded apple and sultanas, traditionally prepared during Ramadan. The addition of apple not only makes it far more delicious, but also highly nutritional. Apple can also be replaced with shredded pineapple, diced peaches or even crushed pistachios.

Ingredients                                                                        Quantity
Milk 2 cups
Date syrup 1/4 cup
Rose water 1 tbsp
Green Apple, shredded 1 pc
Sultanas, chopped 2 tbsp

 

Method of Preparation

  • Place milk in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Mix date syrup with a little hot milk and add it to the saucepan, followed by the rose water and stir until well combined. Add more syrup to get the required sweetness.
  • Pour into glasses and garnish with shredded green apple and chopped sultanas.
