Can you manage 30 minutes of exercise for 30 days?
This is what HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum asked Dubai when the Dubai Fitness Challenge was launched on 20th October.
The fitness challenge seems to be gripping onto everybody as it comes to its second week with a host of fun activities around the city for everyone to enjoy.
The goal of the Dubai Fitness Challenge is to promote a fit and healthy lifestyle, which is possible only when food and fitness go hand-in-hand. While you are doing your 30 minutes part, we as a culinary school are here to help you with some doable go-to healthy strategies, especially for the fun-seeking beginners to benefit the best out of this challenge.
1. Say hello to Water
Whether you are exercising or not, there is no other drink like water that can do wonders to your body in ways that you have not even probably thought of yet. It is very important to keep your body well hydrated so that you can stay energized to perform better during the workout sessions. We know everyone is well aware of this fact but the newbies often seem to skip this routine once their workout session is over. Remember, for best results you have to stay hydrated throughout the day.
2. Go nuts about Nuts
While there are plenty of healthy snack options available, let us go with the yummy and nutritious, nature’s gift – Nuts. There are so many varieties of nuts available in the market, go for a handful of whatever you like the most or a good mix of all to keep your mid-meal hunger pangs away.
3. Think Fruits for your sweet tooth
We know how difficult it is to keep up with your fitness regime when you have a sweet tooth. Next time when you get that sugar craving, go for your favorite fruit and if that is too plain for you then slice the fruit up, drizzle some honey and sprinkle some freshly grated coconut over it. If you are still not satisfied, then go ahead and dip the fruit in melted dark chocolate and crushed nuts. Now come on, it cannot get any better than this if you want to see some results.
4. Never skip your Breakfast
Again,it is something we all know that we should not skip breakfast but due to our busy schedules, we either skip it or grab something unhealthy on the go.Whether you work out or not, breakfast should be your most important meal of the day as it maintains your energy level throughout the day.
.5. Watch your Portion Size
Please do not go for any crash diets or any kind of drastic diet changes in the beginning. Start with portion control and slowly make the changes. Give sometime to your body to get adapted to the new food routine.
6. DO NOT cut on CARBS
Yes,you read that right you need to eat your carbs to get a well-toned body healthily. As we mentioned above, keep your portion size small but do have a good mix of everything your body needs to keep going.
Start with making these small changes in your food routine and you will be surprised to see how you get eager to add more and more healthy eating habits by the time the fitness challenge ends.
